3. Connecting to the eVMDS Server

The eVMDS Player is pre-configured to connect to your eVMDS Server during initial setup.

4. Playback Management

4.1 Playing Scheduled Content

The eVMDS Player automatically plays video content based on schedules assigned via the eVMDS Server.

  • Ensure the device is powered on and connected to a display via HDMI.
  • The player will automatically load the assigned schedule for the current day and begin playback at the current time.
  • Playlists are played in the order defined in the schedule, with seamless transitions between videos.
Note: Schedules and playlists are managed on the eVMDS Server (see eVMDS Server User Manual for details).

4.2 Offline Playback Mode

The eVMDS Player supports offline playback using pre-synced content:

  • If the internet connection is lost, the player will continue to play the most recently synced schedules and playlists.
  • To ensure offline functionality, sync the device with the eVMDS Server while connected to the internet before disconnecting.
Note: Offline mode prevents remote updates or new content synchronisation until the internet connection is restored.

5. Device Management

The eVMDS Player does not have a user interface for device management. All device management tasks, including viewing device information, updating settings, and assigning schedules, are performed through the eVMDS Server interface.

For detailed instructions, refer to the eVMDS Server User Manual.
