Once enabled on a course, the plugin uses Moodle's native completion tracking to identify each learner's progress. It automatically dispatches an email nudge pointing the learner to their next incomplete activity, based on course order. Nudges are sent on a configurable schedule (defaulting to daily at 09:00) and are fully customisable in terms of content, frequency, and opt-out settings. No manual intervention is needed once configured.
Do I need to rebuild my Moodle LMS courses to use this plugin?#
No. The Micro Learning Nudges plugin is designed to work with your existing Moodle LMS courses. There is no need to restructure or rebuild content. Simply ensure that completion tracking is enabled on the activities you want to include, enable the plugin within the course settings, and the nudge system will handle the rest automatically.
Can learners opt out of receiving nudge notifications?#
Yes. When the opt-out feature is enabled (by administrators or educators), every nudge email includes an unsubscribe link. Clicking it records the learner's opt-out for that specific course and presents a confirmation message. Administrators can enable or disable opt-out globally, and educators can override this setting at the individual course level.
What reporting and tracking does the plugin provide?#
The plugin includes built-in reporting at both course and site level. Educators can access a Micro-Learning Engagement Report showing nudge statistics, click-through rates, and individual learner engagement levels. Administrators have access to a full nudge audit log including every email sent, the user, course, linked activity, and timestamp as well as an opt-out report, both of which can be exported for further analysis.
